Charles J. Willey, M.D. is founder of a 35,000 patient
medical group in St Louis that lowers cost by improving health and
avoiding costly medical catastrophes.
However some of his successful methods are outside the Obamacare law's rule
straightjacket.
He uses a new model for managing health risk: Health Risk Transfer Pools
(HRTP)
Dr. Willey has some well reasoned ways
to improve medical delivery: incentive-ize patient health maintenance and
improve the Doctor/Patient interactions by avoiding costly legal restrictions
on medical practices.
Much of what he proposes to avoid catastrophes are not now covered by
reimbursable insurance coded procedures.
However the high cost catastrophe-fixing treatments are covered.
Current medical delivery and insurance policies maximize costs and minimize
health maintenance.
